Abuelle was started in 2021 when my elderly grandmother’s health declined, and she became bedridden while receiving hospice care. During this time, I initiated conversations with my mom about various applications and designs for a product aimed at providing support to individuals in similar situations.  

 

     Our pads proved effective in maintaining the cleanliness of the bed, assisting with positioning, and offering absorbable, washable pads. This experience led us to expand our concept, incorporating handles and promoting these washable pads to assist other families who have loved ones facing bedridden, wheelchair-bound, or limited mobility situations. 

 

     The name "Abuelle" draws its inspiration from our beloved mother and grandmother. "Abuella" signifies 'Grandmother' in Spanish, and the addition of "ELLE" represents 'SHE.'
